SOMEWHERE IN SUMMERVILLE is a ground-breaking new drama, with comedic elements, that looks deeply into the world of regional theater in the Southeast. The full-length production has 2 distinct storylines that examine the intra-diversity within the Black community, with characters that are sure to appeal to a wide audience. In one of the storylines, the Meadows household has to grapple with the dysfunction in their family while in the other storyline, the director of the play has to grapple with the dysfunction within his group of actors. These two storylines are woven together seamlessly.

The story and characters were inspired by Anthony's experiences doing local and regional theater throughout Georgia and South Carolina. As he states, “with a few of the productions, I have been a part of, there was often more drama behind the scenes than on the stage. So I began to write about some of those experiences and the end result is Somewhere in Summerville.”

This is Anthony's 3rd full-length stage play. Previously, he wrote and directed Voice on the Winds of Change and Strugglin along with a series of short stage plays including his most successful one-act: The Commitment.

Somewhere in Summerville is in the final stages of planning and expected to premiere soon in Atlanta, GA with a secondary premiere in Augusta, GA. The play has been in development since the summer of 2015 and we have done several previews beginning in the fall of the same year. Below is a list of those previews and their respective casts.

Throughout this year we have done s series of successful projects, particularly on the stage. One of our best performances was during a black box theater presentation of my original stage play Somewhere in Summerville. That show is in Atlanta's historic Auburn Avenue district and it just so happen to be the same weekend when the "Black Lives Matter" movement staged a big protest in the area. Samuel Umoh did the live performance at Venkmans, but when we did a follow up recording with this group, he had a scheduling conflict and we were fortunate enough to get Asante Williams to step in and play the role.
