Doritos Commercial - - Independently Produced Commercial for SuperBowl Competition

Director / Producer Mark Crump came up with a brilliant concept for the Doritos Superbowl Commercial Competition. He also assembled a stellar production team and cast. I played a Republican politician in the commercial, which also includes cops, gangs, and zombies. I know it would appear that these elements don't mix, but that shows the brilliance of the vision. It's amazing how it all came together.

Augusta Actors Studio
A simple formula for me is to learn and then apply. Over the years I have had the opportunity to share my knowledge and experience with other actors in a variety of settings.

Stemming from the frequent request to do some acting workshops in Augusta, GA, I established a place where I could hold periodic classes.

From the feedback that I have gotten, it has been a great experience for those that have attended. A key benefit for me is that it keeps me fresh. In my preparations, I re-visit lessons I have learned from those who taught me.

Another great benefit of these is working continually with actors, which helps me when I get opportunities to direct.

Art Meets Fashion Expose: Community Cultural Event
Oscar Antoine Jesse hosts an annual event that integrates the world of fashion and other art forms including theater, music, spoken word, and visual art. I was asked to present a short play during the event and chose a short play written by Shaquilla Jackson, a student at Paine College in Augusta, GA.

Photography & Graphic Design by Anthony R. Page
Shaquilla, a very exciting and intense actor,  played the lead opposite Matt Calcutt, who is also a rising R&B singer.

The presentation was a highlight for an overall stellar occasion. The event took place on March 30th at Paine College's H.E.A.L. Center.

Sickle Cell: Crisis and Courage: One Woman Show
Sickle Cell: Crisis and Courage is an honest, raw, and powerful story of triumph after triumph centered on Dr. La'Veda Wallace-Page's struggle with Sickle Cell Anemia.

On February 28th of this year, she had her first performance at the University Hospital Auditorium which was sponsored by Georgia Regents University Women’s Studies Department and led by Dr. Seretha Williams. She is the author and performer and I directed and produced this show…It was a triumph creatively, but the reality of a pain that distorts her pursuit of happiness continues to be humbling. For me, a journey begins, for my wife the struggle continues.

Swamp Murders
I had the opportunity to work with Crazy Legs Productions (based in Atlanta, GA) on a few episodes of a criminal investigative series that appeared on the Investigation Discovery Channel. The series documents and re-enacts murders that took place in the swamps.

I played a police officer in two episodes and between takes, I took some shots of the crew at work. As you can see in the photos, these guys went to all lengths to get the shots they wanted to best tell the stories.

We filmed at Phinizy Swamp Nature Preserve in Augusta, GA. The executive producers were Tom Cappello and Allison Troxell. The project was directed by Scott Thigpen and Scott Ippolito was the Director of Photography.

Blog: African American Indie Film, TV, and Theater:
There is an emerging American Renaissance in the world of Black Film, Television, and Theater. Consequently, We, Blue Bistro Creative, started a blog to highlight some of these African American independent film, television, and theater professionals and their projects across the United States.

Our goal is to encourage increased patronage, promotion, and investment in the industry segment, by introducing audiences to the world of independent storytelling. We suspect that this could be the beginning of the best period of Black Film, Television, and Theater in the history of
our country...so stay tuned.

LA Filmmaker: Diandra Lyle is among the talents featured.

Graphic Designs
In 2013 I decided to take on graphic design, although there are many talented designers out there, it can be difficult for them to see exactly what you have in your head. So I began to learn the tools of the trade...here are just a few of the things I did.

Community & Cultural Arts Advocacy:
Over the years, I have jumped at the opportunity to support meaningful causes. I have learned that you can be in all places at once, so now I carefully choose where I will place my time and attention. This allows me to have an impact in these areas with some depth and breadth.

I was asked by Helen Blocker Adams, a community leader, and entrepreneur based in Augusta, GA, to be a part of the Augusta component of events held for Global Entrepreneurship Week. This was a great opportunity for me. Our industry is not well-represented at such events (African American Independent Film, TV, and Theater). I had the privilege of being a panelist. The event took place at the Partridge Inn on Wednesday, November 20th.

I also spent an afternoon in the studios of Perry Broadcasting of Augusta. I was asked to be on-air to do a campaign for The St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital. For me...Time well spent.
