Dinner Theater in Denmark - - A Tasty Theatrical Experience

Denmark, SC: Whitney's - - an upscale diner in Denmark, SC, has partnered with Blue Bistro Theater to bring a recurring series featuring a 4-course catered dinner served during the presentation of three short stage plays. The show, titled Whitney's Dinner Theater, will be held on Friday, November 6, 2015, at 7pm in Massachusetts Hall on the campus of Voorhees College.

Whitney's, co-owned by the mother-daughter team: Rev. Betty Odom-Bell and Whitney Shauntel Odom, have done much to live up to its motto of "making food fabulous."

"I'm all about being different, and I love introducing others to new things and experiences! Whitney's allows me the opportunity to do just that! I'm especially excited about Whitney's Dinner Theater because it allows me to bring something unique, sophisticated, and entertaining to a community that I love and cherish!" - - Whitney S. Odom.

Working with La'Veda Wallace-Page, the executive director of Blue Bistro Theater, the mother-daughter duo is preparing for what they call "a tasty theatrical experience." Attendees can expect a menu of American cuisine in an upscale environment intermingled with live performances.

Blue Bistro Theater will present works from the company's Blue Series, which is a repertoire of innovative works by emerging creative voices.  These works feature a variety of up-and-coming industry talents including actors, writers, and directors.

Featured works for the November show include The Campaign, The Commitment, and an excerpt from a new full-length stage play: Somewhere in Summerville, all written and directed by Anthony R. Page.

To bring these stories to life, Page has put together an ensemble of notable talents from Atlanta and Augusta, GA including Nathan Rothwell, Olaundra Grace, Shatareia Stokes, Jalen Frasher, Jade Ealy, Keyonice Chisholm, Shemiah Alford, and introducing Danielle Parks & Laraybia Walters.

Page, a film, TV & theater producer/director who is building quite a reputation for quality work, says, "We are continually looking for ways to activate spaces in only the way live theater can. This unique opportunity gives us another platform to stimulate conversation within communities and break new ground for exceptional creative voices."
