More About the Play:
The past cannot be erased, or altered in any way and, in most cases, it is not easily forgotten. It is one of life's truths we ALL must learn to accept. In “Double Lives”, this truth is like gospel for the Dickerson family. Forgetting the past by living fully in the present is a practice they've seemed to master. But after the arrival of a cynical family member and a callous friend, the once peaceful, the praying household becomes a prayer-less one. Now, faced with inescapable truths, the Dickersons are forced to come to terms with the past they've tried so hard to forget.

For over 20 years, Pastor Doug Dickerson has never gone into detail about the life he used to live....until now. After his church burns down and his television interview makes national news, his mother shows up at his doorstep with a wildfire of her own. Doug’s wife of 19 years is elated to be meeting the mother-in-law she thought passed away but struggles with forgiving Doug for lying. First Lady Dickerson gets support from her gossiping friends and neighbor, Suge, who strives to be like the First Lady amidst comforting her in her time of need. But things take a turn between the two women when a scar from the past unravels, leaving the two emotionally wounded.

The Dickersons, their extended family, and their neighbor discover more about each other in a few weeks than they've EVER known. What they discover impacts them in unexpected ways and for some of them, ways they feared. And just when they think the closet has been cleared of all skeletons, another ghost from Doug's past appears with a haunting secret.
