(ATLANTA, GA) The Conduit, a 13-minute sci-fi film, will premiere on HUeMANtv on Wednesday, March 10, 2021, at 7pm. This premiere is a part of the network's Whatchu Watchin' Wednesdays, where they feature quality films by emerging cinematic voices. The network is particularly interested in highlighting stories from talents whose works are not usually amplified.

Actor Jesse Bingham as Adam, an aerospace engineer

HUeMANtv is the only Ad-Free platform that centers on marginalized content and is free for viewership. We intentionally seek to help members of underrepresented communities make content and tell their stories. Our network spotlights the experiences of POC, women, people with disabilities, LGBTQ+, and other marginalized communities.

“We believe in strengthening the voices of minority groups, which in the past have been intentionally silenced and negatively defined in western cinema.” Alahna Lark, Programming Director for HuEMANtv.

In the film, Adam, an aerospace engineer played by Jesse Bingham, helps pioneer interstellar space travel through a wormhole. As he refines the technology, he is betrayed by his handler to a mysterious cabal who work for an off-book, international government agency.

The film was written and directed by Brian Wanjugu, a recent grad of Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD), and co-stars Teea Loreal and David Jones. The supporting cast includes Tegan Jones, Garrett Forge, and Jah'Bre'El Page

Anthony R Page, who serves as Co-Executive Producer on the project shared, “So much of the global African American experience has yet to be shared. Recent successes of so many films across many genres clearly demonstrate an appetite for more complex stories centered around Black characters.”

Brian and Anthony previously collaborated on several other projects including TRAUMA, a family drama built around a soldier returning from war dealing with PTSD, and Armed and Dangerous, a modern-day film noir project built around a rookie cop. Anthony starred and co-produced each of the films, where Brian wrote, directed, and served as Director of Photography.

“We have an interest in telling all kinds of stories, across the spectrum.  Looking down the line, we are developing projects that fall under the categories of horror, psychological thriller, and works that would be considered experimental or avant-garde.” Anthony R Page
