Building Community Through Collaboration - - Blue Bistro Creative Teams Up with Lark Media on Dramatic Short Film: Remembering Momma

Anthony R Page Writes and Directs a Film Centered on Early On-set Alzheimer's Disease

Blue Bistro Creative, an Atlanta-based production company led by Anthony R. Page has enhanced its commitment to the community by working with a variety of up-and-coming creative enterprises and individuals, to share more of the depth, breadth, and complexity of Black People through film, television, and theater.

Page shared the motivation behind his latest initiative, “for so long others have controlled our narrative, which has led to global perceptions in many ways that have been inaccurate, inauthentic, and incomplete. Now that the barriers to telling stories via film & television have become much easier to surmount, we are seeing a rich renaissance of stories being told, representing more of the full scope and scale of who we really are."

Coming out of this commitment Page has elected to work with Focused Fylmz, led by Jerard McKinzie, and Lark Media, led by Alahna Lark.  Jerard is coming off of a slew of recent projects including a feature-length comedy titled: THOT Therapy and served as the director of photography on the viral Bobby Huntley Covid 19 video titled: Corona Man. Working primarily as a producer, Alahna's most recent project is a three-time Telly Award-winning short film titled: Made In America

Building great synergies between their entities, Page, McKinzie and Lark pulled together an eclectic mix of dynamic talent for the short dramatic film: REMEMBERING MOMMA.

In the film written and directed by Anthony R. Page, Brenda “Ladybug” Brooks, a middle-aged African American woman's vivacious and expressive life as a wife, mother, visual artist and art teacher slowly fades away, due to early onset of Alzheimer's Disease.

The film stars Meki Mac, Wes Lee, Amber Reign, and Semaj Cottle. They are flanked by a strong ensemble cast that includes Kenisha Johnson, Tarik Garrett, Amy Christine, Kimberly Raven, Niya Davis, Angel L. Henderson, Nathan Rothwell, Warren Hawk, and Tisa Key.

Verlenzo Hawk, Wes Lee, and Meki Mac serve as Executive Producers on this project, with Alahna Lark taking on the role of Producer and Jerard McKinzie serving as the Director of Photography. The project also includes Art Direction by production designer and visual artist Tonya Haswell.

"Even though we are making great strides, we still have many generations of stories that we know can inspire, encourage and shift perceptions and perspectives about Black people. So the work continues." ~ Anthony R. Page.

Remembering Momma is scheduled to begin screening in the fall.
