Anthony R. Page Joins RICE Stakeholder Community to Develop Alma Film Festival in the Dominican Republic

October 16, 2024 – [Atlanta] – The RICE community is thrilled to welcome Anthony R. Page, a visionary leader in film, entertainment, and business, into its esteemed network of Stakeholders. Page will leverage RICE's dynamic programs and resources to further develop the highly anticipated Alma Film Festival, debuting in the Samaná/Las Terrenas region of the Dominican Republic in late spring 2026.

The Alma Film Festival will be a signature cultural event, focusing on global cinema, with a particular emphasis on Black and Brown filmmakers and creatives from the Global South, the Caribbean, and African diasporic communities. The festival is part of the broader Soul Resorts cultural ecosystem and will be hosted at their flagship venture, Alma de Samaná Golf Resort & Residences. The festival aims to bring global attention to the Dominican Republic’s burgeoning film industry, creating a cultural hub that combines world-class filmmaking, tourism, and investment opportunities.

Anthony R. Page, now part of RICE’s INSPIRE stage of the Big IDEAS continuum, will focus on refining the festival's vision and building a sustainable framework for its success. Through this phase, Page will explore key entrepreneurial strategies, working with RICE’s network to develop the festival’s infrastructure, business plan, and global outreach.

The Alma Film Festival is poised to attract filmmakers, industry leaders, and cinephiles from around the world, enhancing the Dominican Republic’s reputation as a global film production destination. With the support of RICE’s entrepreneurial community, the festival is set to become a premier cultural event, combining the beauty of the Dominican landscape with the richness of global cinema.

"The festival’s potential to create a lasting cultural impact, alongside the stunning backdrop of the Samaná region, makes this an incredible project, and with the support of the dynamic RICE community, so much more is now possible. We thank the entire RICE community for providing us with this platform to grow" ~ Anthony R. Page
