Special Invitation: An Oral Histories Project
Showcasing the Voices of Atlanta’s Haitian Community

ATLANTA, GA – January 30, 2025 – This May, The Alma Film Festival Executive Team will host a unique celebration of Haitian Heritage Month through The Alma Experience: Haiti – Revolution & Resilience, a cultural series spotlighting Haiti's legacy and its impact on global identity. From April 3rd to May 31, 2025, this immersive series will feature a themed visual arts exhibition, live theater, film screenings, Haitian cuisine, fashion, and discussions focused on cross-cultural diplomacy in various venues throughout the city of Atlanta.

Presented by the Alma Film Festival in partnership with the APEX Museum, the Studio Blue Acting Conservatory, the Alma Museum and Heritage Center, the Afro-Mosaic Cinema Circle, and the Alma de Samana Golf Resort & Residences, The Alma Experience: Haiti – Revolution & Resilience honors the history, culture, and spirit of Haiti.

"The Alma Experience: Haiti – Revolution & Resilience celebrates Haiti’s rich culture and the transformative role of the arts in building cross-cultural understanding," said Anthony R. Page, the Festival Director for the Alma Film Festival. "Haiti holds a unique significance as the first Black republic in the world. Our community owes something to Haiti and her people; they changed the dynamic for all people in the Western world."
