Blue Bistro Creative, collaborating with Thornwood Media and Limitless Productions has come together to executive produce a short film titled: RJ Sings The Blues . About the Film: Despite her humble beginnings and difficult home life, RJ – a singer in a small southern city, is presented with an opportunity to live her dreams. However, she soon realizes that there may be an eternal consequence of her choice. The film stars Kiara Iman (RJ); Sandra McCartney (Lou) and Tare Glaspe r (Carter), with co-star Olaundra Grace (RJ's Mom), and introduces seven-year-old  Cayden Brown (The kid). ON JANUARY 21st, 2017, The Johnson Youth Organization and Dominion Beauty & Barber Hair Salon presented their annual Hair & Fashion Show Extravaganza. With more than 100 models and dancers, the show has become an event many fashion-friendly audiences look forward to each year. My company Blue Bistro Creative has done a variety of multimedia projects for the series including photography, motion graphics, live video feed during the show, compilations videos, and video recording of the entire show. As my wife and I sat with our 6-year-old son: Jah'Bre'el and watched President Obama's Farewell Address , we realized that Jah'Bre'el has only lived in an America under an Obama Presidency. That in itself is a powerful metaphor for our son's life. The example that President Obama set; the poise that he demonstrated and his grace under fire, were all important lessons that we wanted Jah' to learn. In ways that we don't fully comprehend, our son connected to Obama's presidency, and would watch very carefully as he spoke over the years. This is Jah'Bre'el's foundation and clearly affirms who he is as a Black citizen in this world. Because of the work my wife and I do throughout the community as well as what has been reflected at the highest levels of our government, Jah' has been validated in ways that we were not as children. Many residents in Augusta, GA had a profound reaction to the recent presidential election. Some cheered while others jeered. Some cried while others celebrated. Regardless of their political philosophy, it is clear that the 2016 Presidential election had revealed a deep divide within our country. I had the privilege of working with Kiara Iman and Deja Green, who were students from Davidson Fine Arts High School, which is a Grammy award-winning magnet school in Augusta, GA. They were both a part of the final preview of Somewhere in Summerville at the Jabez Hardin Sanford Performing Arts Center in Evans, GA. Even though they were the youngest members of the cast, they exhibited the commitment and maturity of more seasoned professionals. Each of them had scene-stealing, crowd-pleasing moments and added a great deal of substance to the overall show. In addition to their ambitions as actors, both were also developing their musical talents and had formed a trio called Divine Intelligence . Along with their co-collaborator Hip Hop Artist: Jiggy Bril , they blended a unique combination of rap, spoken word, and song.
