Producer, Director Anthony R Page Explores Family Relationships In the New Short Subject Film: Life Support

Alexis "Lex: Branch stars in the short film: Life Support.

(ATLANTA) Life Support, a short film, directed by Anthony R. Page and written by DuJuan “DAP” Paxton explores the conflict between siblings during their father's medical crisis. After being hospitalized for more than a year, the 3 siblings played by Alexis "Lex" Branch, Kerwin Thompson, and Joshua Dennard struggle to find ways to resolve their differences.

Primarily noted for her singing, Branch has been making a name for herself on the indie music scene in Atlanta including being a co-star on VH1’s Love & Hip Hop Atlanta, spin-off show Leave It To Stevie, where she released her single Let You Go. In Life Support Alexis plays the lead character Tyra, delivering an edgy, organic performance.

Branch is flanked by Kerwin Thompson who plays her older brother Sharif. Thompson's character holds his own as his sister's primary antagonist, delivering a performance with naturalistic resonance and refinement. Growing up in the well-known Freddie Hendricks Youth Ensemble and with an overall background primarily in theater, Kerwin has been recognized throughout the city of Atlanta as an actor's actor. In 2016  he receive a Best Actor nomination from the Metropolitan Atlanta Theatre Awards committee for his role as Commissioner Brickett in Designing Women and as well as another nomination from Broadway World Atlanta for his portrayal of Cardinal Wolsey in Anne Boleyn.

Joshua Dennard balances their performances as the younger brother Ronnie. His portrayal is filled with subtle sensibility and nuance. Having been an actor since the age of 12, Josh has starred in over 11 films made across the country as well as many appearances in national commercials including a long-running spot for the Kellogg’s cereal company.

Page, who also edited the film and serves as co-executive producer on the project, added, "this was a great experience for us. Everything just lined up in a nearly perfect way. We had a great cast whose chemistry was on point. The production team was very committed and went out of their way to make this project successful. Dap, who is the other executive producer, found an ideal location that made art direction a breeze and I can honestly say that as director, I was able to get every shot I wanted...this was a rare indie production experience... had to compromise nothing."
