Atlanta, GA – (August 21, 2025) — The Alma Film Festival is proud to partner with the acclaimed Tiny Nook Concert Series—produced by DDCE Creative Agency and Dream Variations Entertainment —to debut its first international edition, Tiny Nook: The Global Sessions , March 17–22, 2026, in Las Terrenas, Dominican Republic. Founded in Bushwick, New York in 2023, Tiny Nook has become a cultural phenomenon — “NYC’s Tiny Desk for the People” — known for its intimate concert series that centers authentic connection between emerging artists and audiences. Matching Grant Announced for Alma Film Festival to Support Emerging Global South Filmmakers The Alma Film Festival is pleased to announce a generous gift from an Atlanta-area private family charitable fund. The contribution, made through the Alma Global Community Development Corporation , will directly support the Dandelion Institute’s Film & Television Fellowship , which equips emerging filmmakers from the Global South with mentorship, training, and opportunities for global exposure. Our inaugural group of fellows includes filmmakers from Honduras, South Africa, Jamaica, Lesotho, Fiji, and the Solomon Islands , working across narrative, documentary, animation, and experimental cinema. The fellowship equips them with the tools, mentorship, and a platform to tell stories that are more authentic, accurate, and complete—broadening our understanding of the vast kaleidoscope of human experience. This four-phase fellowship integrates creative development, business strategy, and cutting-edge technology to prepare participants for sustainable, market-ready careers.
