Alma Film Festival Announces Collaboration
with Elias L. Mulenga, Zambia’s Leading Film & Arts Advocate

Atlanta, USA - Las Terrenas, Dominican Republic — The Alma Film Festival is proud to announce a new collaboration with Elias L. Mulenga, Zambia’s #1 Film and Arts Advocate. This partnership underscores the festival’s inclusive, global approach and commitment to building meaningful cultural collaborations across the world.

Elias Mulenga will play an instrumental role in helping Alma shape a global cinematic agenda that reflects the vast diversity of the Global South, ensuring that stories, voices, and innovations from Africa and beyond are central to the international conversation.

This collaboration expands Alma’s community of stakeholders to 47 cities across 32 countries, strengthening a global network of cultural leaders, filmmakers, and innovators who are working together to reimagine cinema for the future.

“My decision to fully commit to this industry was born from the realization that Zambia’s creative industry needed strong advocacy — a voice that consistently stands for better structures, visibility, and opportunities for creators. I chose to be part of that voice, to ensure that our stories are not only told, but also respected, supported, and celebrated,” said Elias L. Mulenga.

“As for the Alma Film Festival, it carries the spirit of expansion; not just Zambia’s narrative, but on a global standard. It creates a platform where conversations thrive, where we learn from each other, and where opportunities are born. Supporting Alma means supporting the bridge between Zambia and the world, and that is a cause I firmly stand behind.”

“Our work is rooted in the recognition that so many institutions and advocates are already leading this vital work,” said Anthony R. Page, Festival Director of the Alma Film Festival. “Elias L. Mulenga embodies that spirit of leadership, and together we will amplify the voices of the Global South as part of a shared global cinematic movement.”

Mr. Mulenga will also participate in the Afro-Mosaic Cinema Summit, a global gathering of cultural architects, future-focused film professionals, disruptors, and thought leaders from across the African diaspora and Global South. Through think tanks, town halls, and symposia, the Summit develops a shared cinematic agenda that reimagines how stories are created, circulated, and celebrated worldwide.

Anchored in research and dialogue, the Summit amplifies diverse voices, sparks cross-continental collaboration, and generates strategies that will shape the future of cinema on a global scale.
