RJ Sings The Blues and Armed & Dangerous to be shown during Storyversal's Pop-up Film Screening of Seed in Atlanta

Atlanta-based indie filmmaker Spurgeon Brown will be screening his latest film Seed at 640 West Coffeehouse and Eventspace on April 21st at 7pm. His 40+ minute experimental film is a testament to the expanding content dynamic of Atlanta's independent film scene.

The film tells the story of a father who uses a non-traditional method to take his troubled son through a Rite-of-Passage.  Written & directed by Spurgeon Brown, Seed stars Chris Goode, Audra Luke, and Fidelis Singleton.


In addition to this feature screening, Brown and his team at Storyversal have invited other indie filmmakers to showcase their works. Selected films include RJ Sings The Blues, The Planetics, Armed & Dangerous, and Path - A Goodbye Letter to America.

RJ SINGS THE BLUES

About the Film:
Despite her humble beginnings and difficult home life, RJ – a singer in a small southern city, is presented with an opportunity to live her dreams. However, she soon realizes that there may be an eternal consequence of her choice.

The film stars Kiara Iman (RJ); Sandra McCartney (Lou) and Tare Glasper (Carter), with co-star Olaundra Grace (RJ's Mom) and introduces seven year-old Cayden Brown (The kid).

THE PLANETICS

About the Film:
Planetics are a group of hip hop space bugs, who are rapping to educate our youth of the
wonders of the universe! Named after their respective planets: Venus, Jupiter, and Mars, they rap and
inform to funky music sounds.

The short film The Planetics was written, directed and produced by Eric Lorenzo Clement.

ARMED & DANGEROUS
(Directed by Brian Wanjugu)

About the Film:
When Detective Kama makes a disturbing discovery about her new partner Detective Gitts, she is faced with a decision that could put her career and life at risk.

The film stars Amber Tai Hemphill (Detective Kama), Anthony R. Page (Detective Gitts) and Kiory Rivera (Paul). The film co-stars Kiara Iman (Paul's Wife), Jesse Bingham (Paul's Brother-in-Law), E. David Jones (Officer Jones) and Devaunte Smith-Dempsey (Detective Smith).

Armed & Dangerous is done in the style of classic film noir.

Path - A Goodbye Letter to America tells the intimate story of Ebrima S. Ba's journey from Africa to his 18 year American experience.  The short documentary film is written, produced and directed by Zak Norton.
