An Emerging Partnership with Samala Cronin of Australia’s First Nations Community
ALMA FILM FESTIVAL - PARTNERSHIP LOADING
We’re excited to be developing a new partnership with Samala Cronin and her fashion design house, Mumred, whose work celebrates her First Nations culture in Australia.
Spending time with Samala and her community has been a wonderful opportunity to listen, learn, and appreciate the beauty and individuality of their cultural traditions. Her fashion has a signature all its own, offering a window into stories and creative expressions that deserve greater visibility around the world.
Our engagement with Samala affirms once again what we’ve recognized across the Global South, particularly, and in other parts of the world as well: there is a Renaissance of Reclamation. People are taking control of their narratives and building systems that embrace a more authentic, more accurate, and more complete representation of their humanity.
Together, we’re developing activities and programming that will connect our communities—expanding our presence within her community while introducing Samala, her work, and her creative vision to ours.
We’re especially excited that one of our key media partners, Impact Atlanta International Magazine, has featured Samala and her fashion in its latest edition, with Runway Diva Shay on the cover. It’s an opportunity to look beyond familiar images of Australia and discover the creativity of one of its First Nations designers.
We want to thank Terri Stephenson, publisher and editor-in-chief of Impact Atlanta International Magazine, for her consistent commitment to the Alma Film Festival.

We’re also developing an activation for the 2027 Alma Film Festival, March 12–21, in Las Terrenas, Dominican Republic. Stay tuned as those plans take shape.
With connections across 42 countries, we’re continuing to build a global community of partners—professionals, creatives, individuals, and agencies bringing their distinct perspectives to relationships that cross countries, cultures, and continents.
Coming up this week (SEP 30 - OCT 4) is Ent-Tech Atlanta (our Innovation & Discovery Expo), and we’re busy preparing for the community to come together in Atlanta. There’s so much to look forward to.
As always, we are committed to BUILDING COMMUNITY THROUGH COLLABORATION.
More to come.
