“My Father’s Dream” Featured at the Alma Film Festival’s Ent-Tech Atlanta Opening Night
ATLANTA, GA — The Alma Film Festival will present My Father’s Dream, a short play by Anthony R. Page and S. Denise Couba, during The Alma Experience: Opening Night on Wednesday, September 30, 2026, at 6:30 p.m. The evening takes place at Palate Atlanta Tasting Room, 339 Nelson St SW, in Atlanta’s historic Castleberry Hill neighborhood, as part of the Ent-Tech Atlanta Innovation & Discovery Expo.
Set in the summer of 1967, My Father’s Dream unfolds in the kitchen of a widowed Atlanta mother. As one daughter fights to reopen her late father’s restaurant and her brother is drawn toward a more radical response to the changing world around him, the family confronts grief, generational responsibility, and competing visions of the future. At its heart, the play asks what it costs—and what it takes—to keep a dream alive.
Presented by Blue Bistro Theatre, the production is directed by Kaylee Jade Warfield, an Atlanta-based writer, director, and producer whose credits include work on P-Valley, Genius: MLK/X, and Genius: Aretha. Her short film WAKE UP! premiered to a sold-out audience at Atlanta’s historic Plaza Theatre.

The cast features:
Sunday Sabbath as Cela. A film and theatre actress trained at the New York Film Academy and Savannah College of Art and Design, Sunday’s credits include August Wilson’s Fences, Route 187, and Oh What Fun opposite Eva Longoria. She is also a published children’s author and U.S. Army veteran.
Deja Holmes as Billie. An Atlanta-based actor, author, educator, and founder of DDH Creates, Holmes wrote Grams & Me, which was adapted into a Theatre for Young Audiences musical, and Cami Finds Her Voice. She recently joined the board of Contemporary Classics Theatre.
Talib Henderson as Duke. Talib Henderson is an actor from Lithonia, Georgia, with a passion for storytelling rooted in his early creative work alongside his twin brother. Together, they began making short films for YouTube, sparking an interest in filmmaking that led Talib to pursue acting in 2020. He has since continued to build his experience and develop his craft. As a theatre major at Georgia State University, Talib is furthering his training in performance and strengthening his foundation as an actor and storyteller.
Beyond the theatrical performance, guests will enjoy curated wine tastings from Behind the Pour, a fashion presentation by Zaccheus Miles, a musical performance by LyriQ Lashay, and a technology-infused improv experience from Act A Fool, led by Brion Gibson.

The Ent-Tech Atlanta Innovation & Discovery Expo runs September 30–October 4, 2026, at various locations throughout Atlanta.
