The Abstract Echoes of Gradual Greatness

At Blue Bistro Creative, we are increasing efforts to spotlight African American people and projects in the world of independent film, television, and theater. To that end, we have upgraded our online platform and have changed the name from African American Indie Film, TV, and Theater to Abstract Echoes.

In addition to our new name, we will highlight even more visionary storytellers and notable production activities, so be on the lookout for detailed profile articles, special reports, press releases, and production follow-ups from industry hotspots and emerging markets across the United States.

Our new tagline is "The Abstract Echoes of Gradual Greatness."

TO BETTER UNDERSTAND WHO WE ARE...
HERE'S A BIT OF CONTEXT FOR OUR COMMITMENT

One of the icons that influence our commitment to community, is Harriet Tubman and her work on the Underground Railroad. We focused on one moment of her experience. The moment where, after an arduous journey North for the first time - - which we are sure was filled with a multitude of obstacles, Ms. Tubman decided to return to the South and do it again. That's THE moment.

As a team, we stopped and examined THAT moment - - the courage of her decision, the purpose in her commitment, the power of her belief, and of course the audacity of her hope. There were no cars, buses, or airplanes, so she had to walk or run most of the way - - Bounty hunters and bloodhounds were in pursuit, which made every step, every decision a matter of life or death - - She also had a tendency to go into unpredictable sleeping spells (narcolepsy) because of an injury suffered on a plantation, but she did not let any of this get in the way of what she had to do. Harriet walked her walk...a multitude of times.

Her story and her commitment are the key influences on our advocacy efforts. So as we continue to build our enterprise, one project at a time, we will also look for ways to make a lasting impact on the world around us. This is what we call the "Abstract Echoes of Gradual Greatness."

Every great dream begins with a dreamer. Always remember, you have within you the strength, the patience, and the passion to reach for the stars to change the world. ~ ~ Harriet Tubman

In addition to highlighting movers and shakers through this online platform, we have also started the Axis - - Film, TV, and Theater Apprenticeship Program for students from the 7th to 12th grades.
