Bi: A Cinematic Journey Redefining Identity, Struggle, and Self-Discovery

Atlanta, GA – Producers Sid Powell and Anthony R. Page introduce Bi, a profoundly compelling film that dives into the intricate layers of Faye Sterling, a Bisexual, Bipolar, Biracial artist vividly portrayed by the talented Chloe Ochoa, making her debut in this thought-provoking narrative. The film fearlessly challenges societal norms, unraveling the emotional complexities experienced by a creative individual restrained within the confines of imposed labels.

Directed by Tequoia Urbina and penned by Sid Powell, Bi chronicles Faye's emotional crescendo as she grapples with her breaking point, culminating in a poignant and heart-wrenching decision.

“Bi came to me in a vision. I saw a woman plagued by the weight of titles. Bipolar, Biracial, Bisexual. She was just trying to live a simple life but couldn't manage to sort it all out in time. Bi is about all of us. It's about an everyday woman trying to find her place, trying to carve out a safe space to just...Be. And don't we all want that? I think at our core, we do.” ~ Sid Powell

The film boasts an exceptional ensemble cast that includes Beliria Sims, Dante Sellers, Mya Breyana Morton, Dexter Matthews, Olivia Malonda, Cortnie Hines, and Jerome Stephen Manning, all contributing their remarkable talents to this evocative narrative.

Tequoia Urbina, the film's director, brings a wealth of experience, having recently wrapped work on captivating films such as Rooted and is in development for an upcoming horror feature, The Deacon.

“I believe that the most powerful stories are rooted in truth. They touch on the universal themes that go beyond language, age, race, or gender and reach into the hearts of the viewer in ways that only the purest art forms can. Sid is an incredible storyteller with many diverse stories to tell. I was fortunate to collaborate with her on this very important film. As an artist, I believe that when you find your village, you find your home.” ~ Tequoia Urbina

Renowned for scripting works with strong narratives and emotional depth, Sid Powell is recognized for films like The Dempsey Sisters, with Denyce Lawton and Lynn Whitfield; and Somebody's Child, with Michael Jai White and Nadine Ellis.

Actress Olivia Malonda was caught in the moment. She portrays the mother of the main character.

With a commitment to fostering a more diverse storytelling landscape and broadening the audience for independent Black films, Page continuously seeks creative milestones by collaborating with a spectrum of independent filmmakers.
