Unveiling Mechanicsville: The Dark Shadow of Downtown (Part 1) Documentary Series

[Atlanta, GA] — The Mechanicsville Civic Association is excited to announce the upcoming release of a groundbreaking documentary series, Mechanicsville: The Dark Shadow of Downtown (Part 1). This multi-part series aims to shed light on the economic challenges faced by the Mechanicsville community in Atlanta and serves as a call to action for positive change.

About the Series:
Mechanicsville: The Dark Shadow of Downtown delves into the heart of Mechanicsville, a community that has long grappled with economic neglect despite its proximity to downtown Atlanta.

In Part 1 of this compelling documentary series, we explore the personal stories, struggles, and resilience of the Mechanicsville community through the lens of its dedicated residents - - hearing from prominent figures in the community, including Sharon Collins, a lifelong advocate for the community; David Holder, President of the Mechanicsville Civic Association; Ocie Fulford, Parliamentarian of the Mechanicsville Civic Association; Renee Giles, a resident sharing her personal experiences; and Diana Lynch, a resident, property, and business owner.


The first part of the series is set to be released on November 22, 2023. Subsequent parts will follow, providing a comprehensive exploration of Mechanicsville's journey, challenges, and potential for revitalization.
