Expressing Gratitude For Our Global Community of Stakeholders in 35 Countries Around The World

Greetings To Our Global Council of Culture and our wider community of supporters.

We want to share a quick update regarding our social media presence.

Recently, several of our Facebook and Instagram accounts connected to Anthony R. Page (@Anthony.R.Page) were unexpectedly compromised and subsequently taken offline (we believe we were hacked). As a result, those pages are temporarily unavailable. We have formally contacted Meta and are actively working toward reinstatement.

In the meantime, we remain fully operational and deeply engaged.

You can continue to connect with us on Instagram at @AlmaFilmFestival, which remains active. Our LinkedIn, YouTube, Substack, Blogger, and official website platforms are also live and updated regularly. We encourage you to stay connected with us there as we continue sharing festival announcements, program highlights, and community updates.

Most importantly, our momentum has not slowed.

If anything, we are witnessing an increase in engagement, partnership activity, and global interest. With less than three weeks until the festival, we are firmly in the red zone — focused, energized, and incredibly excited to debut what will be a very special and carefully curated experience.

We are profoundly grateful for the many ways you have supported this movement:

  • Co-curating programs

  • Contributing financially

  • Sharing and reposting our content

  • Engaging through our newsletter, YouTube channel, and website

  • Partnering with us across media and communications

We extend special appreciation to our media and editorial partners, including Sheen Magazine, Impact Atlanta International Magazine, Between Takes Magazine, Shades of Cinema, Shate L. Hayes & The Purpose Post, along with so many other individuals and institutions who continue to amplify our work.

We especially want to thank Mrs. Diana Lynch-Grisette, Founder and President of Soul Reserve and the visionary behind their new venture in the Las Terrenas–El Limón area of the Dominican Republic, the Grand K. Soul Reserve has been a cornerstone and institutional partner, and one of our greatest champions throughout this entire journey. We take none of her support for granted and are truly grateful for everything she has done to help position us for this moment.

Of course, this is not the full expression of our gratitude. In the coming days and throughout the festival, we will be thanking many individuals and institutions both publicly and privately for their meaningful contributions. Our Global Council of Culture — the collective body of our stakeholders — is now nearing 140 individuals across the world. We take none of them for granted. Every contribution, whether large or small, has played a role in helping us arrive at this moment, and we are sincerely thankful for each and every person who has walked this journey with us.

Together, we have built a growing cultural coalition spanning 52 cities across 35 countries — a testament to the power of conversation, connection, and community in action.

As soon as our core personal pages are restored, we will notify you immediately. Until then, we move forward — focused, collaborative, and committed to delivering an experience worthy of your trust.

Thank you for your continued and consistent support.

With gratitude and momentum,

Anthony R. Page

About the Alma Film Festival

The Alma Film Festival was created in response to structural gaps in the global film ecosystem. By design, it is a next-generation destination, experience-based film festival and cultural convening—one that functions as a cultural intelligence engine, bringing together filmmakers, scholars, technologists, artists, institutions, and audiences from across the Global South and its diasporas.

Rooted in scholarship, innovation, and deep audience engagement, Alma prioritizes fewer films with greater intentionality, creating space for meaningful dialogue, relationship-building, and long-term collaboration. With up to 80% of the program dedicated to Global South cinema, the festival showcases narrative features, documentaries, shorts, animation, experimental works, audio storytelling, and new media—centering films that engage cultural memory, social relevance, and creative innovation.

Programming is curated in partnership with global entities and agencies, reinforcing Alma’s role as a platform for shared authorship rather than extraction. Through this approach, the festival has cultivated a global community of stakeholders spanning more than 51 cities across 35 countries.

Beyond screenings, Alma integrates fellowships, symposia, performance laboratories, editorial platforms, and emerging technologies—positioning the festival not simply as an event, but as an ecosystem. Guided by the principle “The Necessity of Something New,” the Alma Film Festival advances cultural diplomacy, fosters cross-regional collaboration, and contributes to the development of sustainable creative economies worldwide.

At its core, the Alma Film Festival is a global gathering designed to nurture both ideas and people. It embraces a kaleidoscope of cultures while intentionally shifting the social dynamic from competition to connection—creating space for collaboration, understanding, and shared growth. Alma moves us from extraction to exchange, from visibility to value, and from presence to purpose.

We are doing something new.

There is a necessity for something new.
