The five-day gathering closes with a question that is becoming impossible to ignore: As artificial intelligence reshapes culture, creativity, and commerce, who will have the power to define what comes next?
Sunday is spearheaded by Atlanta-based AI Makers Generation (AIMG), an organization advancing a simple but increasingly consequential idea: AI literacy should be as accessible as digital literacy. Co-founders Darion Do'Anjou and Gheri Thomas will facilitate the day’s discussions and serve as featured presenters, guiding conversations around access, innovation, and the evolving role of artificial intelligence in culture and society.
AIMG moves the conversation beyond fascination and fear. Through hands-on education, experimentation, and community building, it gives creatives, builders, and emerging makers the tools to understand AI, work with it, and participate meaningfully in the systems taking shape around them.
Our mission expands into a broader cultural conversation, bringing filmmakers, artists, technologists, educators, and community voices together around questions of authorship, access, representation, cultural intelligence, economic opportunity, and responsibility.
Because AI is no longer merely a production tool. It is becoming part of the infrastructure through which ideas are generated, images are made, stories are circulated, and economies are built. That raises a more consequential set of questions: Whose stories inform these systems? Who gets represented? Who owns the tools? And who participates in the value they create?
Sunday pairs those questions with practical engagement, grounded in a shared belief across the Alma Film Festival's global ecosystem, and AI Makers Generation: the communities most affected by emerging technology should not be positioned simply as its audience.
They should be among its makers, authors and architects.
Afternoon Session – Beginning at 2 PM
Sunday afternoon widens the lens, bringing together thought leaders, cultural practitioners, agencies and institutions from across the Festival’s international stakeholder community for a series of global conversations that span 42 countries.
Participants will join virtually from Fiji, Guyana, South Africa, the Dominican Republic, Kenya, Nigeria, Jamaica, Brazil, Australia, Zimbabwe, Gabon, Switzerland, Honduras and Lesotho, among other markets represented across Alma’s expanding global network.
The conversation moves beyond the priorities of any single country or region and toward a more ambitious question:
What would it take to build a truly global cinematic agenda?
The discussion will examine where policy, practice, community, and collaboration can begin to converge—creating stronger pathways for filmmakers, institutions, and cultural leaders to exchange knowledge, expand access, develop sustainable partnerships, and participate more fully in an interconnected global cinema ecosystem.
At its core, the session advances the Afro-Mosaic Cinema Summit’s cultural intelligence mission: moving beyond dialogue alone and toward the architecture of something more enduring—a shared framework for action, collaboration, and collective growth.
